I live in Chicago, IL with my husband Mike and our two incredible kids. I recieved a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Tufts University/The Museum School in Boston, MA. I recieved a Master of Art Education from Columbia College in Chicago, IL. I am currently teaching in Chicago.

For my illustrations, I use Golden brand acrylic paint that is thinned down with a glazing liquid. After a sketch is made, I carefully cuts out stencils from adhesive frisket paper. The paint is applied in sections using the stencils to create clean, sharp edges.
For my paintings, I sometimes use Golden acrylic paint and sometimes use Utrecht brand oil paint. With both kinds of paint, I use layers and glazes to create a luminious effect. The painters that have most influence me are Balthus, Matisse, Giotto, and Hopper.
